Good Black Walnut, shipping okay

I bought a couple of Black Walnut Thin Boards for a small inlay project. The wood itself was really nice, kiln-dried and flat, which made working with it a breeze. The price was competitive too, especially compared to my local shop. Shipping took about 6 days to get to me in Oregon, which felt a little slow but wasn't terrible. Packaging was good, everything arrived without damage. Overall, a solid experience, but faster shipping would make it even better.

Great Purpleheart, will buy again!

I ordered some Purpleheart for a new cutting board project, and it arrived super fast. The wood was beautiful, really good quality, and the milling was perfect. It was exactly what I needed. I will definitely be shopping here again for my next exotic wood needs!

Got some Sapele, pretty good

Needed some Sapele for a guitar body I'm building. Placed an order and it got here in decent time, took about a week. The wood was clean, no major defects or anything. It was milled well, not rough at all. Prices seemed fair for what I got. I'd probably buy from them again when I need more lumber for future builds.

Live edge can be pricey. Look for a bulk discount or a holiday sale if you can wait.

Need wood for laser engraving. What works best for detail?

R RahulK 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Hard Maple or Cherry. They give good contrast and don't burn too easily.

Definitely Maple for clean lines.

Basswood also works well for engraving, very light burn.

Their 'Laser Engraving Wood' specific packs are curated for that. Might be worth checking.

Hey, thinking about grabbing some walnut thin boards for a laser project. Are they actually good for engraving or too much variation?

N Neil Y. 3 months ago
Yeah, I got some maple and cherry thins from them a while back for laser stuff, worked great. Really consistent milling.

T Todd Reyes 3 months ago
Can't speak for walnut specifically, but their stuff is usually pretty high quality and flat. Worth a shot, returns are easy if it's not right.
